An incident when 4000 Italian women were gang raped by Allied forces. An incident that was completely removed from History Books Second World War was fought between two alliances.

It was told to us that ‘The Allies’ were good and ‘Axis’ was bad. But, that is not true.
May 1944, Lazio (Italy) Battle of Monte Cassino was going on between Allies vs Axis. In Sep 1943, Italy already had surrendered but Hitler didn’t let Allies forces control Italy and Italy was under the control of German forces. For the last 4 months, a fierce battle was going on between Allies and German forces for the control of Rome. This battle in history is known as the Battle of Monte Cassino. After heavy bombings from the French air force, the Allies successfully won the battle and captured the city. Allies had French-Moroccan troops fighting for them.
The Moroccans were allowed to run wild, slitting the throats of prisoners, looting homes, and raping every Italian woman they can get their hands on. And then happened gang rape of a city. Moroccans attacked Italian women like animals n raped all women they found.
An estimated 3000 women aged 11-86 were raped, some so violently that 100 of them die. About 800 village men who try to protect them are also killed The Moroccans even raped local boys and a Catholic Priest!
Two Italian sisters, ages 16 and 18, were gang raped by more than 200 Moroccans. One died from abuse, and another will spent the rest of her life in a mental hospital Moroccans went unpunished by their French Commanders and were later raped and killed again when they occupied Germany.
This crime was completely omitted from history books. In 1957, French writer Alberto Moravia wrote the novel Two Women (La Ciociara) on this event. In 1960, A movie came on this novel with the same name Sophia Loren’s (actress of film) performance received critical acclaim. She won the Oscar award for best actress for this film.
History is written by winners. Allies won the war, and they wrote the history and we read the history written by them.
But truth can be hidden and can never be destroyed.
